It's an Opilione, a harvestmen.

| | | Re: Spider Identification I've seen several of these over the last year and although I've marvelled at them, I thought they were ordinary harvestmen, (common type I mean, whatever ) with flattened legs  now I know the shape is peculiar to it's particular species it's even more amazing.
Hoopstinct, how can this be uninteresting ?

| | Re: Spider Identification Ok Ok - obviously I found it interesting hence the photo post! When I tickled his leg and he moved he looked more like a harvestman - I thought I discovered something unusual... but he's still handsome even if he's not uncommon! I must educate myself further

Thanks again for replies | They are currently extending their range very fast. The interest in this species comes very much from where you found it. Worth checking if it has been recorded from your area before, or if it is a further extension of it's known range. |
