| | | Two spiders for ID I've been looking at some spider photos from the end of August, taken at Gibraltar Point, Lincs. I'm not expecting any definite IDs, but hope some light can be shed on what sort they are
The first was found on the sand dunes and I'm afraid I can't give much of an idea of size... except large enough to catch my eye when I was walking along
The second was on some sort of grass, slightly further inland (outside the visitor centre):
Thanks |

| | | Re: Two spiders for ID Both are males and the first looks like a Zelotes or Drassyllus species.
At first glance I thought Segestria florentina. Have you got a size for it? Zelotes electus is a possibility as it is a coastal species and appears to be noted precisely in the area you found it according to the Distribution maps.
Second looks like Larinioides cornutus.

| | | Re: Two spiders for ID Thanks
I'm rather too vague about the size of the first - the grass in view, lying on the sand, is (I think) marram grass and is bent lengthways so not full blade width, so might give a clue to size.
It was in the dunes nearest to the beach and not near any structures. |
