Spider identification help
I seen this beast out my back the other day, needless to say It scared the b'jesus out of me, and I quite like spiders.
i seen it in its web and thought it was a beetle!!

I think it's just the Garden Orb-weaver, Araneus diadematus.

Looks like a dark Aranus diadematus.

Hi Hunter and a warm welcome to WAB!!

As said this is a common Garden spider so no need to worry.

I have these in my garden and they are not a problem to me.

All they want is to be left alone to do what they naturally do. This is to breed and produce their egg sac's after which they will (sadly) die.

Just don't go sticking your fingers into their webs and leave well alone is the best policy!!

Are they extra big this year? I've measured a few larger specimens in my garden and they average around 15 mm body size.
