| | | Unidentified spider ... I'm pretty sure no-one will be able to positively identify this spider, but perhaps someone could possibly point me in the direction of the correct genus? |

Changed my mind, it's a Linyphiidae
Probably Drapetisca socialis

Probably Drapetisca socialis | Hi Venger - I thought you wouldn't be able to resist her arachnid charms ...
Size? I can't remember with any accuracy, but looking at this ruler in front of me, maybe 20-25mm overall, including legs? Body possibly 4 or 5mm? And she was photographed in a country park close to Shifnal, in Shropshire, in mixed light deciduous woodland.
Any help?
Oh, and I think you're right with Drapetisca socialis, by the way ...

| | | Re: Unidentified spider ... As an addendum to the above, it seems the marks (one opposite each of the legs) on the carapace are pretty distinctive, and also you can just make out the long spines on her palps which seems to tie it down to Drapetisca socialis, I believe. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
