Red spider
I came across this chap this morning, never seen a spider this colour.
What is it?

Never seen one this red, but markings on abdomen look like Lariniodes cornutus, an orb-web species often found near water.

I would agree with you on this, the ones we get here are usually white with the same foliate mark.
