The head and thorax area were black and so were the legs but the abdomen was bluey green and sort of nobbly??!!
Any ideas

| | | Re: Blue and Black Spider? Its a wolf spider carrying its egg sack. Someone on here will no doubt no exactly which species but that bluish rear end is a ball of eggs wrapped in protective silk that the female spider carries with her.
Apparently, this is partly because of their roaming, none web building lifestyle and partly because they can move their eggsack into the warmest place in the sun for faster development.

| | | Re: Blue and Black Spider? I'm pretty sure that the nobbly blue ball is not the abdomen but an egg sac. The abdomen is the small brown "bit" resting on the egg sac.

| | | Re: Blue and Black Spider? Yes, Wolf spider with egg sac. There's normally an abundance of them running around on the floor at this time of the year.
