New spider!

Hi guys! Tonight I was out tonight wiv 'my girls' on a 40th Birthday celebration and guess what!!!!???? I saw a Steatoda nobilis (False widow) spider running across the pavement!!!!!! In Ashrord, Kent, town centre!!!! They thought I was mad to hang my head down on the pavement watching it . . . . . . I didn't know they were this far inland yet???????!! I need to repot this sighting .... Naturegirl Sorry, no pictures !

Nice find. All records are of use somewhere and I'm sure you could upload it to KMBRC.
I would suspect that it's more common than perhaps we are aware of, just under-recorded like a lot of different species.
Sadly, as spiders are regarded in a lot of cases as something to be feared, their demise probably comes about at the end of a large foot when people happen upon them in garages, sheds and the sort of places that we see as 'our' space. S.nobilis like these sort of places too.
