| | Yellow Green Spider? Earlier today I found a spider in my garden (in Norfolk) which has an almost florescent yellow body! The front of the spider and its legs are predominantly an olive-green colour, and the underside of the spiders body is green, with a small red dot near the back. It measures about 5mm in diameter.
I've never seen anything remotely like this before in my garden, and its colour definitely makes it stand out! I've tried to search for this spider online, but have had no luck in finding it.
Let me know if you have any suggestions!
Thanks |

| | | Re: Yellow Green Spider? Is the red dot like this? Female Araniella cucurbitina; the male has red on it's legs and a slightly different shaped abdomen. I got a bit confused between the different Araniella versions myself recently. But think this photo is now correctly identified. |

| | | Re: Yellow Green Spider? Sadly you can't tell the difference between Araniella cucurbitina or A.opisthographa they are that similar visually. You need to view the epigyne or palps (sex organs).

| | | Re: Yellow Green Spider? Yes it did look similar to that picture, except the top of the spider was completely yellow- and rather scarey looking!
Thanks for all your help in identifying it | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
