| | | Green spider Hi I'm new to this site which looks fascinating and could take up some time!
I took this photograph this morning of a green spider which has made a web on some Japanese anemone leaves in my garden (bottom end of Gloucestershire).
Unfortunately it has remained stubbornly upside down but I will keep an eye o it in case it turns the other way up!
From other threads I suspect this may be an Araniella. Any comments/observations? |

| | | Re: Green spider Yes, Araniella cucurbitina is a good bet, there seems to be a number of postings on these lately. I have usually found them on oak trees.

Like the common term of 'Cucumber spider' , I've never heard that before, is it a generally accepted common name?

| | | Re: Green spider It's the one I've heard most used to describe this species, so it must be fairly common.
