| | | Unidentified Spider I was wandering around the garden yesterday looking for bugs, birds and things to photograph when I discovered this spider...I have failed to identify him/her. There are chevron-like markings on its back and the front appears to be red, any ideas please? The web looked like a funnel web/tube web/tunnel web:
PS He/she moved extremely fast! |

| | | Re: Unidentified Spider Certainly looks that way - though I can't confirm it from these pictures.
Get someone to tickle its web with a bit of grass and when it comes out take a picture
(it'll come out fast so be ready!) try and get a head shot if you can

I didn't have to tickle web with grass as it was guarding the entrance but it did shoot in rather fast when I tried to get one more closer shot lol. This is the best I could get I'm afraid, I do hope it shows what you need for ID purposes. Many thanks for your response.

It fits the bill, Agelena labyrinthica
