| | | Soft southern spiders??? My favourite wee jumpers, the Fence-post jumping spiders, (occurring mainly in the south and east of Britain) have jokingly been referred to in the past as "soft southerners" because they haven't spread to the (colder) north of England yet!
Maybe this photo will make that view obsolete?
This is one of our female Fence-post jumpers ( Marpissa muscosa) taking down a Greenbottle fly, yesterday evening on our garden fence.
A big meal indeed for a little "soft" spider!

I found one of the images, but not the one i was looking for ...
