| | Re: Spider ID Required Hi Mark, and welcome to WAB
I'm sorry mate, but the pic is not very good, I doubt if any of our spider guys would attempt it, ID of spiders is quite a complicated thing, whether they have 6 eyes or 8 eyes , web spinners or wolf spiders that hunt their prey,
I have put some good pics up for ID with shots from the front , underside , above and from the side too, and only got it to the genus but not the species ,
Don't stop trying though, keep posting your Pics and asking questions, you will find yourself wanting to improve , and beleive me on this site with the help of the other guys and girls, you certainly will,
All the best,
Duncan |

Many thanks for reply - fully understand that it is not the best photo, but as my wife was running in the opposite direction at the time I didn't have much time to get a good pic !!!!
Appreciate the comments.

Thanks for reply - it does look a bit like a nursery web spider but I didn't think they grew very big. This one had an abdomen that was about 25mm long.

| | | Re: Spider ID Required I think they reach around 20mms in length, without the legs of course.
And i dont think there are too many UK spiders that go over 20mms ... | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
