| | | Unidentified Spider Hi everyone,
I was wondering whether anyone would be able to identify this nicely patterned spider seen yesterday on heathland in Dorset. I would say that the body length was roughly 8mm, although I can't really remember.
Thanks for any help you can give,
Guy |

| | | Re: Unidentified Spider Might be a Wolf spider.
might also be an Alopecosa sp of Wolf spider, but best wait for Venger to see it eh? I'm just starting to learn about our eight-legged friends...

| | | Re: Unidentified Spider Looks to me like a female Lycosid, probably Arctosa perita. Though without the usual info I can't confirm this, but it fits the bill (habitat, size etc)
They are very viable, generally depending on the conditions you find them.

| | | Re: Unidentified Spider Thanks both for your help, it certainly looks like the one in the photo but I'll keep it as a Lycosid species to be safe!
Thanks again,
