| | | Wolf spider taking tea. Ok, so no-one was abe to guess what the last spider meal was.
How about this?
I have absolutely NO idea whether this Wolf Spider was dining on another spider this afternoon on our fence, or an insect of some sort.
Please bear in mind that the Wolf Spider itself is no more than, ohhh... 1.3cm wide (INCLUDING its legs), so that may give you an idea of the size of the yellow and black organism it has in its gob. MINUTE.
I did see the Wolfmeister ambush whatever it was on the fence, but did NOT see whether it flew in, or abseiled in on a thread, or climbed up the fence before getting jumped on. Sorry.
Any ideas what it could be?
It does look like a very imm. spiderling to me. (possibly).
All help much appreciated.
Thanks.
TBR.
NB.
As usual, please click on the thumbnail and THEN the photo if you want to sharpen it up a wee bit. |

No you haven't. Well.... to be honest I don't really remember.
Its a second hand 5 year old (roughly) Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ20 and a clip-on Raynox DCR150 lens (which I MUST get to cleaning tonight!)

| | | Re: Wolf spider taking tea. Must admit I pondered on Enoplognatha, but decided there are too many spiderling species with similar pigmentation, it does look likely though!
No. 9 Spider
