I have a male that's a darling but the female in my avatar can be quite vicious at times, even with the kids.

Maybe its a spaniel thing. |

I also have another aunt with an Irish springer bitch and she is boisterous, barmy and barks a lot, but again so charming and friendly (the bitch, not my aunt).
