| | | Spider for identification please Seen Salcey Forest under rotting wood (probably oak) 8th March 08.
Size - very tiny, approximately 2.5mm long excluding legs. I have several pics of this individual and they all show legs that are a light colour near the body and darker toward the ends.
Visually I thought it looked quite like Dipoena inornata but would appreciate confirmation or correction.

Still going through my books, though I don't think its Dipoena inornata, but we'll see after I've had a good search.

| | | Re: Spider for identification please It's a member of the Robertus genus, if you look carefully you can see 3 pairs of impressed red spots on the abdomen. Not sure which species though as they all look very similar, but it's probably Robertus lividus as that is most common.

| | | Re: Spider for identification please Wow Venger that's really well spotted (no pun intended ). I had to really look hard - after first checking out an image of R. lividus - to see where to look for the red spots.
Thanks again for your help.
