| | | Re: 3 spider id's needed 1:I agree with Lord V, Xysticus sp most likely X.cristatus
2: Still working on this one
3: Wolf spider: Most likely a member of the Pardosa family possibly Pardosa hortensis however that is a loose guess

| | | Re: 3 spider id's needed i've looked at some pictures of the X.cristatus and they seem light yellow in colour, however my spider was a grey colour, are there variances in colour?
any luck with number 2? i thought it could be,,,clubiona corticalis ????
or maybe something similar?
how would u be able to findout which wolf spider, it is, or are there too many?
thanksfor your help |

| | | Re: 3 spider id's needed 1:X.cristatus colours are variable, along with most of the Thomisidae family (I'm not certain if they can alter there colours though it's quite common with these spiders Thomisidae that is.)
2: still looking but see 3 ( I need more info on it - sorry)
3: There are quite a lot of Lycosidae in the UK, and they can look very similar each other -
however these photos aren't sharp or clear enough (no offense) and you can't really give 100% id's from photos, you need to view the male palp or female epigyne (sex organs) under a microscope to give 100% confirmation on species.

| | | Re: 3 spider id's needed hey thanks for your help,
i know my images aren't that great, i've got an old digital camera, and they've been cropped a lot. i can't take any better pictures of number two because i released it into the garden.
maybe it will return.
i don't know what other info i can give, other than it was very quick.
for future reference whats the best angle to get of the spiders?
