| | | Unidentified Spider I took this spider pic in Sept 2007 at Monkstown Wood, Newtownabbey, N.Ireland. I have taken photos of long-legged spiders in this location in the past but I have never seen one with such a red body. ID anyone?

| | | Re: Unidentified Spider Looks like a Metellina segmentata (or Meta segmentata), it could also be Metellina mengei as they are very similar.
However, as I cant really see any long ventral hairs on the metatarsus and tarsus on leg 1, and the lateness of the year, I'll go with Metellina segmentata
