Fluffy web?

Hi.

I have no idea what made this and wondered if you guys could help me out. The pics were taken in august while walking on a local coastal path.



This guy was close by but unrelated i think, any idea which spider this is? Sorry about the pic but i couldn't get to the other side and it's been so long i've forgotten what it looked like. When it comes to insects i'm hopeless!

there is a catipillar or catipillars possibley a moth that make a web like this but it could be a spider

The top web is caused by a major infestation of a red spider-mite. I can't put my finger on the name, but the species is common enough on Dorset heathlands in the high summer

it is the gorse spider mite, just been on the computer they are using the mites in new zealand to combat the growth of gorse as they will only live on gorse, it was bugging me.

Spiders are spiders, insects are insects.

Your spider couldn't have done the first web, even if it wasn't from a mite, as it is clearly making a nice wee web. Roughly speaking there are spiders that make messy webs and spiders that make nice webs.

Types of spider webs:

* Funnel-webs, with associations divided into primitive and modern
