| | | Re: Spider ID Please. glsammy, I think I took some shots the other day of the same species. I was scouring the garden for insects and spiders and I found it on an ivy leaf. I'll probably upload one or two soon but haven't had a chance to tidy them up yet. Having trawled a few websites I came to the conclusion that it could be a variety of crab spider, but it was hard to be certain. Hopefully someone can give a more definitive response.

Oo-er pressure on now  Spiders aren't really my field but I'll have a go anyway. I'm not convinced that this is a wolf spider-the 'face' doesn't look right and I'm not sure the eye arrangement is right for Lycosidae either. Could be a Thomsidae or a Theridiidae, or something else-even a Lycosid  . Glsammy, if you take any more could you try & get a top-down shot so there is a good idea of the outline and abdominal pattern? |
