| | | URGENT :Please Help....frogspawn Hi
I really need some quick advice. I have just moved into a house with a garden. I was clearing outside when I found mating frogs/toads under some ivy. I moved them to the top of the garden in an old plant trough. Have been checking them and found today a load of frog / toad spawn. My big problem is we don`t have a pond and no one we know has one and there are none near us. I think some of them have died with the cold over night and we are due heavy frost and snow this week. What can I do ? Can I put them in a bucket in the green house ?
Any advice really needed. Thanks |

Any rate i suspect they will do better in water either way safe from predators and drying out in this strong wind. |

You could try a half barrel pond my frogs love it and I had frog spawn two years on the run. Keep them in the greenhouse and try to find out who has a pond close by. I suspect someone a few doors either way has one, for them to be mating in your garden. |

| | | Re: URGENT :Please Help....frogspawn I had frogs living in the long grass at the top of my garden when I first moved in
I enquired about ponds, none in the area so I built one that started the ball rolling
I have a half barrel, cost £10 and an offcut of butyl liner to waterproof it,there are now 3 goldfish and a frog in it just outside my patio door

We had to water proof ours with an aquatic stuff from a builders, it comes in a tin and you paint it on. But you have to let it dry completely before the plants and animals go in. Make sure you have lots of oxygenaters. |

I can cover the corner of the pond where the spawn is, which might help. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
