| | Is this normal?? Hi, last year we built a pond in our garden. We are thrilled to have it so active already. My biggest phobia was frogs but now i'm fasinated!
I've been watching closely their activities...yesterday however i noticed a frog with 2 distinct sacs coming from its rear...is this normal? and what are they????
I do have pictures but not sure if i can post them on the forums anyone with any info that they could share on this would be greatly recieved. |

It's very emaciated too.
Definitely worth emailing your pic to froglife with a few details of where and when. |

| | | Re: Is this normal?? i'd say it has a distended rectal membrane - never seen it on a frog before but i've seen similar on cows (just on a bigger scale). definitely needs togo to an ambphimbian hospital but i'd say chances are good that it will be an ex frog in the not to distant

| | | Re: Is this normal?? There are some frogs which do this. They have glands at the rea which they can blow up to look like a pair of eye to warn of prediter if in danger. Suposildy meant to look like a large pair of eyes |

| | | Re: Is this normal?? Thanks for the replies everyone...i've e-mailed froglife and attached the pic , just waiting for a reply.
I can't find her at the mo she's either hopped off into the bushes or in the depths of the pond. I'll keep my eyes open for her. I have a friendly vet so i think i'll give him a call and see if he has any ideas too...no doubt he'll roll his eyes and groan at me! i do have a habit of taking in and looking after waifes and strays of all descriptions |

| | | Re: Is this normal?? I think this frog is a poorly frog personally. Never seen this before. I wonder if it's been crushed and that's it's insides. It also looks very thin to me.
