As it is incredibly mild in London today I was just wondering how long it would be before spawn appeared in the pond.

| | | Re: The big spawn count Many Thanks, I've bookmarked the link and will complete the survey if we get anything in our pond this year.
The pond didn't exist early enough last year, so this will be the first spring, but already seeing a few frogs and toads around and about in recent weeks. Here's hoping they spawn in the pond this year. |

My pond was new last year and I rescued some frogspawn from a puddle, which resulted in lots of tadpoles and froglets. But this year I am hoping the frogs will make it to the pond on their own.
Big excitement yesterday evening when I spotted what I thought was a clump of frogspawn... Just turned out to be a clump of algae and leaves |

Last summer the pond and garden was surrounded by both frogs and toads of all sizes as well as 2 separate GCN's so I know they're around and will be back, I just hope they get down to business in there |

| | | Re: The big spawn count I was hoping to see anything froggy (spawn, tadpoles etc) on my pond last year and I've noticed some people are reporting it already on their ponds this year.
I've got a few wild mallards that come and go on my pond and I wondered is this the reason I don't have any frogs? Do they eat frogspawn? |
