I think what Karen has said is right... it would be better to get your pond sorted and tidied up a bit now so that you don't have to disturb it come spring, which is when the frogs will be looking for places to spawn.

| | | Re: Yay! Our first frog :) It won't need to rain much to fill up the pond as that area of the garden is always under an inch or so of water every winter. The ditch is about a foot deep and that is always full of water too. It looks like my weekends are going to be busy and I'll need to invest in a pickaxe to get through the rock hard soil  I'll see what I can do about photos (there may be a stray chicken or two who always manage to get in frame) |
