| | | reptiles of cheshire,merseyside,lancashire & north wales im intrested in reptiles in all the above areas,good sites to go loking this year,
dont worry i will not be disturbing any reptiles,i just want to catch a glimpse of one,any ideas were too look,i know risley moss but you cant go in the areas were they are,
also places on the WIRRAL & Gtr Manchester?
i heard thursaston common on the wirral.
any places in N WALES,i often go around the kinmel bay/llandudno area as well as PWLHELI.

Reptiles are very sensitive to site disturbance and a lot of people don't like them. There are still plenty of people around who will kill anything at all snake-like on sight, even people that like other forms of wildlife. I've seen two birders beat a grass snake to death and both had RSPB stickers in their cars, one even had a Wildlife Trust sticker! We had a free and frank exchange of views, it's safe to say.
Anyway, don't take it personally, we're just looking out for the animals. Besides, going out and finding sites for yourself is half the fun, otherwise it's just twitching. Go and look for yourself, see which habitats have which species and you'll find more in the long run anyway.

Mark | I agree with Arvensis it is very nice to assist people
but we must exercise caution generalisation is good
as really keen people will give time and effort to spot reptiles
