My main place is on the birds section of the forum, but since getting into that other wildlife has started to amke an intrest.
Please forgive me if someone has posted a pic of these before, but i wanted confirmation on whether it is a newt or some kind of lizzard?
It was night time when i took the pics and sorry camera phone is not that good .

Its one of the two small newt species Lissotriton (palmate or smooth). It looks more like a smooth however not all (most in-fact) of the features used for separating terrestrial animals are clear.

Brilliant cheers Dogghound.. a newt it is....something to tell my nephews when i next see them. They love looking in my pond.
