| |  frog croaking yesterday
Near my garden pond yesterday I heard several frogs croaking. It is quite overgrown at this time of year and i have not yet seen the animals responsible. It contains a large population of frogs, newts and a few rudd. In the past I have never heard this except at mating time in the spring. I have heard very loud croaking in the summer in Poitou-Charente. Are my frogs confused or have I got some summer visitors or have I just missed this for the 30 years or so that I have had large garden ponds? |

They are doing this in my garden too I think its just a territory thing..  |

Most likely attributed to males which have failed to breed earlier in the year. |

It could be marsh frogs who will croak throughout summer. |

I have heard fogs in my pond crokeing only other week and did also hear them late in summer last year only thing I have noticed is they dont sound the same as in spring being deeper and sounding a bit louder and as far as no only frog found in cheshire are commom frogs. Can be a bit of a pain if bedroom window open my pond is just out side that window  MIKE | | |
