Help identifying snake
I was out for a walk today and saw a snake that didn't look like any british species I know, (maybe an escaped pet?), sadly I didn't have my phone so no picture. I'd be grateful if anyone could take a guess at what it might have been from this (admittedly poor) description - 3 1/2-4 feet long, tan/orange body covered with darker red-brown patches with black borders. Thanks

look at pics of corn snake or garter snake.
