| | | Re: Snake Skin Just get out and about and keep your eyes peeled. Soon you won't be able to miss them and find slow worm and other lizard skins too. I must have well over 900 adder skins now, as well as all the other reps we have. It's always great to find one from a snake you know well. Nine times out of ten they are torn or fragmented, but it is quite common to find an intact specimen. You then need to steam it over a saucepan to free it up and flatten it. Mount and then laminate. |

| | | Re: Snake Skin Thanks for the tip on steaming them.
A bit of a general (likely stupid) question but when it comes to Grass snakes (the local snake to me) where are the skins likely to be, more around the open reedy areas near the water or are they more likely amongst the rougher wooded area where they are also often found ?
Or as I suspect could it be anywhere at all |

| | | Re: Snake Skin The best answer to that, is anywhere at all. They tend to move around quite a bit when trying to finally slough off their skin. I've found them in dense undergrowth, reeds and in the open near to the edge of woodlands. |
