| | | Re: Great Crested Newt - Excitement Yes Marion, this one is a fair old size too, and thankfully looking better as the day's have gone by. this will be 5 days now and she's still in or around the pond and moving well so hopefully there was nothing to worry about.
This has been reported to Brian as above, the Wildlife trusts and also Froglife.
I'm privileged that she's chosen MY pond also like you say, a sight to remember.
Out of curiosity who told you to move your newt, the only piece of information I've received regarding moving her is Not to as it's a criminal offence, which I was aware of previously, 2 of the 3 contacts didn't mention anything |

| | | Re: Great Crested Newt - Excitement Hi Andrew ...apparently if they are within your property it is ok and we were doing it to help her as she was very dry and covered in cat hairs ...but we cant move her out of the garden or bring one in if we found one elsewhere ....sadly no-one would even know in these circumstances but i wanted to do what was right ....sadly not seen anymore as yet ...plus they dont allways breed each year ....and if she was carrying eggs they could of allready been fertilised by a male and she can hold on to them for next year and lay them in whatever pond suits ....hopefully its mine but hey i was just happy to find one in my garden Marion
