lots of dead tadpoles

hey, ive come to my pond and saw that i have alot of dead tadpoles, could the heat be affecting them? or could it be a lack of food, ive always tried to throw a few slugs or worms in to give them a bit extra so im not sure its lack of food, any ideas? thanks for reading

Can you post a picture of your pond, have you lots of tadpoles in a small pond
?

If it's small and shallow, and the water is warm (put yur hand in), yes, this may be the problem.
Warm water holds less oxygen than cold water.
No need to add food if there are dead tadpoles- they will eat them.
Try to rig up some shade to keep some of the sun off.

If you can upload a photo that would help.

Do you have plenty of underwater oxygenatin plants?

if youre using tap water this could be affecting them. make sure they have enough room and remove most of the dead ones (leaving a few for scavengers). the heat will also affect them so try to maybe remove some old pond water and put in cool de-chlorninated water/ cool rainwater. if you could possibly post a picture of the pond we could see how you can improve your pond if it needs upgrading.
