| | | If a frog ate a slug... would a frog get poisoned if it ate a slug that had eaten a slug pellet?
Thanks |

| | | Re: If a frog ate a slug... depends on the type of poison to the outcome for the frog.
Don't they kill them quite quick? and do frogs scavenge on dead items as i thought they were movement triggered?

| | | Re: If a frog ate a slug... well hedgehogs most certainly perish after eating poisoned slugs and snails so i would imagine frogs and toads would probably do so also thats why i could NEVER take the chance and stopped using them when i held wildlife more important than my plants .....instead i actually feed my slugs and snails by putting lettuce and cucumber slices around various parts of the garden ..and believe me a slug wont really climb up to eat a plant if there is something tasty for them to eat below it ...also every night after my cats have had their fill of wet cat food i put the plate outside and within half an hour it is filled with slugs and snails which i then put on the front lawn for any passing hedgehog etc or just leave them as they do no harm now ....also the smaller slugs are available food for my frogs and toads which live in my back garden Marion

| | | Re: If a frog ate a slug... they would not have to eat the pellet either, since their skin is readily permeable they could take in chemicals just through contact.

| | | Re: If a frog ate a slug... I'm afraid to say it would. bitter experience in my first year as a garden owner taught me this and I have since banned any toxic chemicals from the garden!
I'd rather have black spot and holey leaves than dead wildlife! | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
