Little Red Frog

This Red Frog has appeared in my mums pond. It has gold rimmed eyes.

My parents dug the pond 15 or so years ago and we have never seen a red frog before.

Is it native? Can they be that red? We've seen reddISH ones before, but they tend to be on the dull, rusty shade of red/brown, this little fella is very bright.

Well that's very red but it does appear to be a common frog. I've seen some very red ones too.

I have had a couple of very reddish adult frogs in my garden over the past 5 years ...but never that red !!!!but it does look like a common frog i have had 9 toads in my garden this year and the colour variations in them has been amazing ...i even called one ''little red '' as he really was but not quite as bright as your little fella Marion

looking at the head you can sort of tell its a common frog. nice pic i dont really see adult common frogs often but im more lucky with toads which seem to have a variation in colour too.
