Any type of fish will eat their eggs and newtpoles I'm afraid.

| | | Re: Newts You can keep fish and newts together but if you want the newts to spawn and the newt tadpoles to survive you will need a area of your pond dedicated to the newts which is full of plant life (including plants beneathe the surface like oxygenators and plants above like marginals) to create cover for the newt tadpoles. |

| | | Re: Newts I bet you've got several. Try going out after dark and shining a torch into the pond - I bet you see more newts (and other water life) than you ever imagined existed. I know I was amazed when I tried it with our garden pond.
