| | Unidentified lizard or newt Found this dead (dried up) on my kitchen floor this morning. Not sure if it is lizard or newt. Live in Scotland if that helps (haven't seen a lizard up here before). Live near a pond whih, reportedly, has great crested newts in it. Any suggestions appreciated. |

| | | Re: Unidentified lizard or newt It looks far more like a newt to me but I couldn't tell you which type. I'm sure someone will come on here and let you know.
Best regards,
Jason

| | | Re: Unidentified lizard or newt Jason, Thanks for your reply. What I should have mentioned is that it was about 2.5" in length (including its tail), so I assume it was a baby one. |

| | | Re: Unidentified lizard or newt 100% a newt. Hard to say which species, I wouldn't instantly go for great crested, but it kind of looks like its back right foot is stripey may just be the shot. If you can flip it over and take a shot of it's underside that would be handy!

| | | Re: Unidentified lizard or newt I would say smooth newt as it looks the same as what's in my pond.
Underside shot would confirm. |
