| | | Re: help me plz! During the breeding season male Viviparous Lizards will vigorously defend their territory from other males. If you let them go then one male will probably leave the area and peace will be established. You probably can't do much for the injured one but I'm sure it will be ok if allowed to wander off.
Best regards,
Jason

| | | Re: help me plz! just looked after lunch and am not sure if im glad to say that it has disappeared into the tunnels under our turf where they inhabit. i will keep an eye out but the one which was injured was smaller and if im right in saying this; i think it was a female as its underside was pale. but maybe it was cuz it was a juvenile. the "black" one (named because its the easiest to see, adult and is the only black one seen in my garden) has apparently been getting territorial as it was seen biting another male. im not even sure if it is a male. is there anyway to distinguish the gender of a black lizard?
thnx Deb London and JaySteel. |

You are very lucky to have a melanistic (black) example in your garden. I've never even seen one yet and I've photographed quite a few in many different places. Any chances of getting a photo of your one?
Best regards,
Jason
