hmmmm i was just about to say they look like sharp ribbed newts! ive never seen a palmate newt but they look like sharp ribbed newts to me (corrections welcome )

The 1st one is a sub adult GCN female. The grainy skin and broad head being diagnostic here.

You definately have Palmate newt there aswelland I wouldnt be suprised if you had Smooth Newt.

i agree! the first one is definitely not looking like a palmate or common and the other two are palmates deffo (ive finally seen one! on the internet )

you should be careful when cleaning ponds as GCNs are not to be disturbed as it is an offence to kill, injure, sell, keep, move etc etc.
