please Help im very worried about my fire bellied japanize newt

Hey all 3 months ago I brought a japanise fire bellied newt it had a lil nick in its top lip but I thought it was from him scratching it on rocks and stuff recently I've notices his whole top lip is rotting/dissapearing his in bad shap I can see his teeth and it spreaded up his nose I really don't know what it is or what to do I really don't want him to die his my pet newt called rev

Sounds like a fungal infection, amphibians are very prone to these especially when in captivity. Have you been keeping the tank clean? and regularly changing the water? I would take it to the vet.

Yeah I changed the water every 4 days and drip the right amout of aqua drops in. My vets don't take such things they say its to small is there a vet I shud know about? I also asked A5 aquatics they said get some medicine from them I'm currently using this but every day its getting worse I'm scared of it dying but in a way who wud wana be alive with no face man I'm sad about this. Thanks for the advice people

You need to ring round and find a vet who is good with exotics. My own vet is first class, and would be happy to treat a newt. So I know vets do exist who will be able to help.

Hi Matty, sorry to hear about Rev, as farplace suggested, try to find a vet specialising in exotic pets, if you google *Veterinarian exotics* there are quite a few links that could maybe lead to someone to help him.
