| | | is my frogspawn ok This year for the first time i have frog spawn, its been growing and now they are around 1cm in lenth. Now most of them have hatched (some time today i think) but they are all just lying there on a ledge not doing anything, they are alive because they move there tails but they dont seem to travel. And theres quite a few of them. Is this normal? I thought The water fleas (if they are i might be wrong) might be aggrivating them. thanks for reading |

| | | Re: is my frogspawn ok Perfectly normal, they are relatively inactive for the first few days and just lay in the base of the pond, they have enough body reserves to keep them going. They will then start to graze on the algae within the pond as they grow and the water warms up they will become more active. The Daphnia are not an issue and wont cause any problems to them, although as they grow the tadpoles will predate them. |

| | | Re: is my frogspawn ok Yes, that's what they do. Clump. I always assumed they were eating the jelly of their eggs but I don't actually know if this is the case. .
