| | | Toadfest! Went volunteering last week, and visited a pond at one of the trusts woodland reserves, and it was brimming with mating toads, the sound was incredible, i likened it to a distant flock of jackdaws. I went back the next day to take some photos and had a lovely warm evening by the pool!
some of the photos are on my blog, i just thought i'd share it here The Beardy Birder: Toads!
cheers
tom

| | | Re: Toadfest! Ours has been exactly that too GFM - the frog spawn appeared a good couple of weeks before the toad spawn.
On the day the frog spawn appeared there were at least 10 frogs in the pond. The frog spawn has now disappeared so I'm assuming the tadpoles must have hatched.
It's wonderful - this time last year we were living in a flat with no garden, now we've got a garden complete with pond and it's teeming with wildlife! | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
