Newt ID please (and some horny toads haha)

Went for a walk up to my local disused quarry today. After saving a pair of frogs and a skinny toad from a drain nearby (now tightly sealed with moss to stop things crawling under and falling in) then saving a load of frogspwan which had been laid too close to the edge and was in danger of drying up I decided to snap a few pics of the newts that live there. I've never really found out what species they are though I think there may be both palmate and smooth as I've seen very cresty looking males and smaller less cresty ones which are more likely to be plamates. My pics are a bit rubbish though as the sun was starting to go down. I think they are all females though the last pic I think it may be a male. Also while moving rocks and stuff to find the newts at the edge I started to notice half a dozen or so toads swimming over and taking an interest in my hand...I hadnt realised just how bold they would be, they obviously thought my hand looked like a big sexy female toad I'm not sure if the toads are a bit late here this year or maybe its the frogs as there was loads of very freshly laid frogspawn and although there were laods of toads (mostly males) I didnt see any toadspwan. Oh and caught a fleeting glimpse of one of the resident peregrines so hopefully they will breed again this year and I might get a few shots of them with my new DSLR.

I guess the newts without obvious crests are simply females.
