| | | Poor frog I sneaked up to my pond with new camera in hand just to have a play and found two frogs locked together the one underneath did not look at all happy he was sideways with his neck creaked up as it gasping for air looked like he had been held under the water for some time and his neck was in a kinked position.
I took some pics then got him out with a net the other one let go and swam off I will upload them when I work out how to remove the card from the camera..
Can frogs break their necks this one didn't look good and I put him in the barrel away from the other frog and out of danger of being eaten he swam off sideways like a fish with a swim bladder problem.. |

You can see the way the frog underneath is bending his neck up. |

| | | Re: Poor frog defects in frogs etc are very common esp thanks to the range of chemicals we now apply either directly or indirectly into water bodies.
search deformed frogs to see just a few of the different sorts of deformity they come with and seem to live moderately well in spite of

| | | Re: Poor frog These Frogs apply a lot of pressure in their mating clasping, it could be that the one on top has broken the other
I know when I have taken them off fish the grip is such that I worried about damaging the Frogs

Its face looks shorter than the other frog and toads tend to grab anything the frog underneath is male as was not pregnant and no spawn is in my pond. |

| | | Re: Poor frog Thanks Doggy..
how sad, I may have to empty my barrel as there will be spawn in there soon and he went to the bottom under the bricks that support the planting baskets.
The water will turn bad if he is in the bottom but I will have to leave it till the spawn is finished and sort it then. |
