Selling frogspawn!?

Its just ignorance that's all, not knowing where to go to ask question - not even knowing there was anywhere to ask questions. To him its encouraging frog populations across the country. He didn't know about the diseases.

Always better I think to encourage and inject some extra knowledge than to stamp down too hard on these things.

By the sound of it the guy needs some "proper" advice on pond restoration timings - the first thing his local ARG should tell him is now is not the time to be doing pond restoration work. It should be done over the winter months (Nov-Jan) when amphibians are unlikely to be using the pond, not slap bang in the middle of the spawning season.

Well I've pointed him in the direction of the ARG and similar organisations so he can get that 'proper' advice. That was the most appropriate and most useful advice I could offer him. I don't profess to be any kind of expert in this field and would therefore prefer to direct him to those that are.
