I think it might be a bullhead have a google and see what you think..

Yes, looks like a bullhead, just got out my copy of Complete British Wildlife and looked it up.

gosh that brings back memories

I used to catch loads of them on a saturday morning from a big stream near the local woods ....i thought they were such strange little things ...allways wanted to bring one home ...but my dad made sure i knew they needed running water and certain conditions to live .....sadly i went back one daywith my friends and caught another and brought it home ...it was dead by the next day

i never told my dad as the shame and sorrow was simply awful

but at the age of 7 it was a lesson i would never forget !!! ) i have often wondered over the years are they still in that stream ....Marion
