| | | Grass Snake - finally got a photo! Over the last 3 or 4 years of photography Ive managed to get at least a good, if not great photograph all the 4 common reptile species in the UK except for the grass snake. Ive had some good views but most were from a platform or the snake under cover. But on the first evening of my 3rd trip to the new forest my girlfriend pointed out this little fella who coiled up obligingly on the path where I could get a clear shot |

| | | Re: Grass Snake - finally got a photo! Lovely shot. I'd say it is about a year old, possibly two, judging by the size of its eye in proportion to the rest of its head. A lovely bluey-grey colour too.
Has to be my favourite reptile, (used to keep one as a pet as a lad, many, many years ago I must add!).

I love snakes but in the New Forest I can only ever find Adders, but saying that most of my Grass Snakes have come from around us in the East and North east of London.

| | | Re: Grass Snake - finally got a photo! Yeh great photo must be a very rewarding feeling after so much previous disappointment, well done. All the time this year I've spent outdoors I've not seen one snake, not even an adder, in fact come to think about it, I've not even seen a slow worm!
Sounds though like you've mission accomplished
