| | | Re: Reptile/amphibian of the day On Bonfire night, (sorry, a bit late posting so actually 'Amphibian of the night before last') there were quite large fireworks going off all around us, and I had to go down to the shed at the bottom of the garden with a torch.
Checking on the pond, I found three very miserable-looking frogs (they're never jolly-looking at the best of times, but this lot were exceptionally morose) huddled by a pond basket and staring anxiously up at the sky.
I didn't have the heart to take a photo of them- causing a flash to go off in their faces would have been just too cruel, I thought so I did this picture of them on the computer instead. |

| | | Re: Reptile/amphibian of the day Went out in the garden with the dog and a torch- found three frogs in the pond; two behind a pond basket and one peering out of the hanging basket frame I've got the watercress floating in. Yesterday there were two relatively small ones in the watercress basket, so I presume they were youngsters.
They seem to have taken to the watercress. |

| | | Re: Reptile/amphibian of the day Noticed yesterday the first Smooth Newt of the season in my pond as it came up for some air. Probably more than one, but good to see them back. |
