scat found on step this morning

I posted this question in the General Wildlife section, but further research has led me to believe there might be a reptilian answer to my question, so I'm posting here too. Please can anyone help ?

That isnt like reptile or amphibian faeces at all in my opinion.

Large slug/snail poo?

Thank you both Jennie and Mark. I think Jennie must be right. I've not noticed bird poo like this before, but since you're the second person to suggest a bird (a wood-pigeon was proposed in another forum) I have to bow to better judgement.
It's the first I've seen quite like this though - and birds normally NEVER leave droppings where this was found.

At 6cm long (assuming units on ruler are metric) this must have been one huge (or long term constipated) blackbird according to my experience, but I accept I am no scatologist.

Thank you Malcolm - that was what I thought. It's why I posted the picture. I'd not seen anything this big anywhere around before and the measures are in metric. As you say, one big and constipated bird. I bowed to the advice though - since I'm no scatologist either.
