| | | Re: newt food They are carnivorous so will eat any moving organisms like daphnia when very small. Mosquito larvae are ideal.
There should be enough food floating in the water, but you could buy a bag or 2 of live daphnia from an aquarium shop. It comes as a little bag of water with tiny pink things moving in it. Cost 40p to £1 per bag.
If you put some in, sit and watch and you will see them stalk and eat them.

| | | Re: newt food Don't worry of you can't get any- daphnia soon colonise any standing water (not sure how), so there will be enough natural food.- but it will give them a treat.
