| | newts and frogs? Hi all
I am lucky to have frogs and froglets in my urban garden pond, but no newts. don't they like eachother, could it be the location, or something else?

| | | Re: newts and frogs? They co-exist in many ponds, its likely you location. Newts are less generalistic than frogs in their habitat choice, so if there are poor corridors of habitat linking your garden to other optimum habitats they are unlikely to arrive in the short term, however over time they may arrive. Also it could be that at the moment there is enough habitat where they are and they dont need to move, if populations increase they will then expand and spread out. Do you get newts locally? |

| | Re: newts and frogs? Used to have newts where I lived about 2 miles away, but thinking about it, there was an old stream at the end of the garden.
