| | | Grass Snake Dinner
Went for a few hours to Lakenheath RSPB and as i went6 through the entrance i heard a rustle in alot of stinging nettles. Poked at the noise to see what reaction and it moved slowly. Closer look and found a Grass Snake just taken a rodent. But the nettles so dense i couldnt see what species and i was more gutted as i wanted a photo. Is this common food as i thought they prefered Aquatic creatures? |

Amphibians certainly constitute the bulk of a Grass Snake's diet followed by fish. They do also sometimes take small mammals + nestlings, while youngsters may take invertebrates.
